劉萬林，1943年生，河南汝州人，國畫家、教授。

就學于河南藝術學院、浙江美術學院（今中國美術學院），中國畫師從陸儼少、李震堅、顾生岳、方增先、丁中一、吴山明、馬基光、馮遠诸名家。從事中國畫創作和理論研究。受當代新潮衝擊，從東西方藝術中，古往今來大師處琢磨藝術辯證法，上下探索，精勤不輟，鑄成了鮮明的個人風格。

畫路寬、題材廣，人物、山水、花鳥、指畫多能兼善，畫面開張奇峭，立意新警，富有情趣與哲理，作品在國內外多有參展、發表，獲文化部和政府級多種獎項。海內外多家專業報刊評價其為“有著嚴肅藝術追求的，有影響力有實力的畫家”，其作品“寬宏博大、樸拙雄渾”、“五彩潑墨，洇化渲染，揮灑從容，不拘成法”，“筆墨酣暢，意象非凡”、“立意極高，具有不同凡響處”。

諸多作品被毛主席紀念堂、國家對外藝術展覽公司、博物館、展覽館、文史館、石刻館、太行八路軍紀念館，徐渭紀念館、蒲華紀念館、八大山人紀念館等收藏；海內外畫院、畫廊、財團、企業、中央及省內黨政軍單位陳列。人物畫《劉鄧在抗日前線》捐贈八路軍太行紀念館，受到時任軍委副主席劉華清同志肯定，說：“小平同志畫的像，非常難得！”畫名不脛而走，作品流傳甚廣。河南衛視台、鄭州電視臺、山東衛視台《時代美術》欄目以《刪繁就簡 領異標新》為題做專題報導。

曾長期從事藝術教育，中國畫作品十多次入選由文化部、中國美協主辦的全國展覽，中國美協特邀展、提名展，三十多次入選省級展覽。六次入選國際展;獲國際文化交流獎、國際一等獎、文化部優秀獎、全國一等獎、二等獎，省文藝成果獎，十多次獲省級金獎、特等獎、一等獎等。發表論文三十多篇，曾擔任藝術主持，組織第三屆當代中國山水畫展。出版有個人畫冊兩種，成就和傳記入典《中國藝術家傳記》（第一部）、《中國現代美術家辭典》、《中國當代書畫篆刻家辭典》等多種傳書。

2007年入選當代30位最具學術價值與市場潛力的(山水)畫家，2008年被評為中國改革開放《三十年 三十家》書畫藝術代表人物，2011年分別于河南博物院和汝州市舉辦大型個人畫展。

Liu wanlin（1943-）  a native of Ruzhou，Henan，China ，is a Chinese painter and professor.

He attended Henan Academy of Art and the Zhejiang Academy of Art（Today's China Academy of Art）. Chinese painting was impart by  Lu Yanshao, Li Zhenjian, Gu Shengyue, Fang Zengxian, Ding Zhongyi, Wu Shanming, Ma Jiguang and Feng Yuan.  Engaged in Chinese painting creation and theoretical research， Nutured by the contemporary new trends and the great masters of all ages，he figured out the artistic dialectics from the eastern and the western arts，hence formed a vivid personal style through continuous exploration and never-stop hardworking diligence.

His paintings are wide-ranging both of theme and type，all-powerful in figure painting，landscape painting，flower-and-bird painting and the finger painting with china ink . the tableaus of his paintings are open and exquisite，with interesting new approach，full of charm and philosophy . His works has been published or exhibited at home and abroad many times，some of which have won various prizes given by the Ministry of Culture of other government departments . Several newspapers and periodicals on arts in China and other countrier called him as“a middle aged painter with influence,strength and serious pursuit of art”，praised his works for their “eradition and vigour”，“colorful playing-up and leisurely creativity”，“ease,verve and uncommoness”,“extraordinaty merit of very high-stangding conception”.

A lot of  his works have been collected by Chairman Mao's memorial hall， Great Hall of the people, national foreign art exhibition company，museum，exhibition hall， literature and History Research Institute， stone carving hall, Taihang Eighth Route Army memorial hall，Xuwei memorial hall，Puhua memorial hall, Badashanren memorial hall， Chinese and foreign art museums， financial groups, enterprises, etc . The figure painting Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping on the front line of Anti Japanese War donated to the Taihang Memorial Hall of the Eighth Route Army，which was affirmed by Comrade Liu Huaqing，then vice chairman of the Military Commission，saying : "Comrade Xiaoping's painting is too much like himself, which is very rare ! " His works have a wide circulation and his fame on painting spreads like wildfire .  Henan TV station, Zhengzhou TV station and Shandong TV station made a special TV report on the topic of " Cut the complexity and lead the new standard " .

He has long been working in the teaching of art and ，Chinese painting works have been selected for more than ten national exhibitions sponsored by the Ministry of culture and China Artists Association，specially invited and nominated exhibitions by China Artists Association，and more than 30 provincial exhibitions. He has been selected into the International Exhibition for six times, won the international cultural exchange Award， the international first prize，the excellent award of the Ministry of culture，the national first prize, the second prize， the provincial literature and art achievement award, and won the provincial gold award，special award and first prize for more than ten times .  More than 30 papers have been published . He once presided over the third exhibition of Chinese landscape painting as an art director . His accomplishment and biography have been included in biographies of the Chinese Artists（vol.1），A Dictionary of the Chinese modern artists，the Chinese Artists A Dictionary of contemporary Sprcialists in painting，calligraphy and biography .

In 2007， he was selected as one of the 30 contemporary (landscape) painters with the most academic value and market potential .  In 2008， he was selected as the representative of calligraphy and painting art of "30 famous artists in 30 years" of China's reform and opening up .  In 2011， he held large-scale individual painting exhibitions in Henan Museum and Ruzhou city respectively .
